A home where Architecture meets Water, Light, and Landscape — effortlessly. ... Recently completed along ECR, this 5,400 sq. ft. contemporary north-facing villa was designed for Mr. Badrinath, a former cricketer. With a strong architectural character already defining the home, the interiors were intentionally kept minimal — Understated detailing allowing the architecture to take center stage. The Ground Floor is organized around a sequence of open and semi-open spaces, The entry sequence for which begins with pavers and landscape alternating like a rhythm — guiding movement straight from the gate leading to the foyer. The deep grey massing, white frames, hanging greens, and warm lighting create an arrival that feels bold yet inviting. A Foyer that becomes more than an entry — it creates a quiet transitional pause before the home unfolds. The Entry Living of this residence was conceived as a transitional volume that immediately establishes the Architectural language of the home. The pool becomes the calm blue spine of the residence. Framed by tropical greens, cascading vines; The stepping stones, shaded deck, and landscape pockets create a slow, breathable journey around the water. The Living space acts as the first experiential moment of the home. This double-height volume opens directly into the lawn and pool, creating a seamless dialogue between architecture, landscape, and light. With minimal interiors and warm natural materials, the space focuses on openness, scale, and quiet luxury. The guest lounge opens seamlessly to the front deck and landscape, extending the living experience beyond the walls. To one side, the kitchen, dining, utility, store, powder room, and service access form a discreet functional zone. The studio opens into its own breathable view, creating a quiet corner for work, reflection, and creativity. Every space is planned with a visual release — courtyard, deck, sitouts and landscaped pockets where each room breathes naturally and connects back to light, landscape, and open living. A key architectural feature of the project is the use of staggered open spaces across the plan. At the heart of the plan, the courtyard and deck invite daylight in, while the sit-outs, verandah, poolside zone, and landscaped setbacks break the built mass into breathable pockets. The elevated pooja space creates a subtle ceremonial pause, while the floor is organized around a strong central circulation spine, anchored by a clean-flight staircase that connects the levels with clarity and elegance. Given the strong architectural character of the residence, the interiors were kept intentionally restrained, with a muted palette, warm wood accents, and minimal detailing allowing the home’s scale, light, and spatial character to take focus. A reminder that impactful spaces do not demand excess; sometimes restraint creates the strongest impact. The mezzanine-level family living space was envisioned as a pause point within the home — a place that remains visually connected to the outdoors through a 360° relationship with landscape and light adding vertical depth to the interiors and allows the home to feel interconnected across levels. This vertical connection allows the floor plates to read as one continuous volume. The result is a living environment that feels open, grounded, and effortless — where architecture remains the protagonist, and interiors quietly support the experience of living. Each of the four bedrooms breathes naturally,Connects back to light, landscape, and open living. From the poolside landscape below; to the balconies above, the home is designed to let every space breathe, pause, and look outward. The house is composed of a series of shifted volumes and shaded pockets. Crisp white cuboidal forms frame the living spaces, while grey textures add contrast, balance to the overall composition. The open stepped terrace and landscaped terrace areas further extend the first floor outward, providing usable outdoor spaces at multiple levels. These belvedere terraces create multiple vantage points that continue the stepped spatial language of the lower floors, creating an architectural promenade from the ground level through the first floor and up to the roof. A home that uses open connections to create a continuous spatial experience whilst creating layered living experiences across every floor: Grounded and social at the lower level, private and family-oriented at the first floor, and open and panoramic at the terrace level. Every reflection, step, and landscape pocket adds to a sense of quiet luxury.
